PORTRAIT | La Zinghera del Mare

La Zinghera del Mare (The Sea Gipsy) is a portrait I created after I visited the Moken Village, in the northern rim of the Andaman Sea, 60 kilometers west from Thailand’s mainland.

The Moken Sea Gypsies use to navigate around the islands and stay in different bays, yet nowadays they are permanently located on Surin Tai. It was amazing to see the striking beauty and contentment of the inhabitants of this island. One girl in particular stood out with her singular beauty and strength , despite her young age.
